The Safety Professional role is based in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and reports to the Area Safety Manager.
What Youll Be Doing
- Proactively manage employee safety and health to improve performance.
- Provide ongoing support to plant/location management and employees.
- Implement and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Interpret and plan for compliance with safety regulations at all levels.
- Conduct safety training sessions and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify and address potential risks through proactive hazard assessments and corrective actions.
- Report facility safety and health performance and conduct local site safety training.
- Collaborate with management to develop and integrate safety strategies into operational plans.
- Respond to incidents investigate root causes and deliver actionable solutions.
What Are We Looking For
- Strong knowledge of health safety and environmental regulations and practices.
- Minimum 35 years in safety preferably in construction or construction materials.
- Postsecondary safety certification NCSO Certification Occupational Health and Safety Diploma/certificate preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging safety training materials.
- Experience in managing WCB and returntowork programs.
- Effective communication skills to influence and motivate teams toward safety excellence.
- Exceptional problemsolving and analytical skills with a proactive mindset.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety and collaboration within a diverse workforce.
- Clean class 5 drivers license.
