Job Description

The Administrative Systems Analyst provides application administration and user support for various administrative information systems managed by the Administrative Information Systems (AIS) team. The incumbent also works with our campus constituents to help define system requirements and to provide crossfunctional user support and training. The Administrative Systems Analyst has the opportunity to work with a wide array of technologies and will develop a deep domain expertise in administrative functions within a higher education setting.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Business Process Support:
  • Provide functional area support for administrative systems; including but not limited to Workday HCM Finance and Student building access control systems and meal swipe systems.
  • Assist in the development of user documentation and training materials for end users.
  • Monitor system performance and generate reports on system usage and access trends.
  • Conduct timely troubleshooting and resolution of production data and software problems.

  • System Administration and Integration:
  • Configure maintain and support various administrative systems ensuring integration with related databases and applications working with crossfunctional teams to ensure continuity.
  • Administer door access and meal swipe systems (CBord or Salto) ensuring reliable and secure operation. Coordinate with campus facilities and dining services teams to manage related system configurations user access and issue resolution.
  • Perform or assist with user account creation and maintenance.
  • Work with other campus staff to develop scripts and automate processes to improve system efficiency and reduce manual administrative tasks.

  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and practices in system administration security systems and automation.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and enhancements to existing systems and workflows.
  • Participate actively with the Administrative Information Systems team including staff meetings development activities and project work.

Other related duties as assigned by the position supervisor.

SKILLS ABILITIES

Education: Associates degree in computer science or related field preferred; substantial career experience can be substituted for a degree.


Experience: Minimum of three 3 years current related experience required.

Computer Skills

Ability to define and analyze business requirements and functional systems design.

Ability to learn and configure administrative information systems.

  • Experience with Workday administration or development (or other commercial ERP platforms) is preferred
  • Experience with door access systems (e.g. CBORD CSGold Salto) is preferred.

Ability to train end users in the use of administrative information systems.

Experience working with relational database management systems preferred working knowledge of SQL as well as the ability to modify and troubleshoot SQL statements.

Ability to develop specialized reports.

Proficiency in the use of common office productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Google) Excel experience preferred.

Software development experience preferred.

Certificates Licenses

Prior work experience in a higher education setting preferred.

Project management experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
