Job Description

Met Council is Americas largest Jewish charity dedicated to serving the needy. We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion integrity and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100 affordable housing at 21 locations family violence services Holocaust survivor assistance geriatric social work crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries affordable housing sites and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.

Position Summary:

Lead and oversee the strategic direction development and of programs at the Brooklyn Social Services Hub funded by UJA Federation and Met Council ensuring seamless daily operations expansion and performance management. Supervise Met Council staff and collaborate across departments to enhance efficiency streamline processes and drive missioncritical initiatives. Serve as a key advocate for Met Councils work actively engaging with community leaders elected officials and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships including with UJA Federation and expand the Hubs reach. Provide highlevel administrative and operational oversight to ensure all programmatic and grant objectives are met reinforcing the Hubs impact within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide visionary leadership management and operational oversight for the Brooklyn Social Services Hub.
  • Supervise and mentor staff ensuring professional growth through regular meetings performance evaluations and targeted professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement internal policies procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and client services.

Community Engagement & Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary representative of the Met Council Hub in the Boro Park community advocating for the organizations mission and impact.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders elected officials funders and external stakeholders to advance the Hubs initiatives.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with community organizations ensuring seamless collaboration for wraparound client services.

Program Development & Strategic Growth

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives to expand the Hubs services identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Design and implement innovative programs that address community needs and enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting ensuring compliance with grant requirements and leveraging insights for program development.

Fundraising & Resource Development

  • Actively engage in fundraising efforts including grant writing and donor relations to secure financial support for expanding services.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and oversee the preparation of proposals and reports to funders.

Client Services & Case Management Support

  • Provide guidance and support to staff handling complex client cases ensuring best practices in service delivery.
  • Oversee adherence to Boro Park Pathways procedures and protocols ensuring that all clients receive highquality comprehensive support.

Agency Representation & External Collaboration

  • Represent Met Council in highlevel meetings with government agencies nonprofit organizations and private sector partners.
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that enhance social services and benefit the broader community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and growth of the Met Council Brooklyn Hub.

Skill and Education:

  • Education and / or experience: At least five 5 years of experience in direct Jewish communal work and at least five years supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal work (required)
  • Language Skills: Understanding of Yiddish (strongly preferred)
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word Excel Outlook Salesforce and other software programs

Compensation: $140000 to $160000 per year.
