Job Description

CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Student Services Professional III

UNION CODE: R04

TEMPORARY END DATE: This position is temporary and ends on or before December 31 2025. Any continuation beyond December 31 2025 is contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding.

FT/PT: Fulltime

PAY PLAN: 12month

WORKPLACE TYPE: Onsite (work inperson at business location)

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5540 per month.

CSU CLASSIFICATION SALARY RANGE: $5540 $7893

PAY BASIS: Monthly

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT:

FOR PRIORITY CONSIDERATION applications must be received by March 27 2025; however the position will remain open until filled.

POSITION PURPOSE: Reporting directly to the Vice President People & Culture the Title IX Victims Advocate provides comprehensive traumainformed support advocacy and resources to persons who have experienced sexual misconduct sexual violence dating/domestic violence stalking or other forms of harassment or discrimination. This role is critical to providing comprehensive support services. The role requires a proactive approach in advocacy crisis intervention and multidisciplinary collaboration.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advocacy & Support

  1. Provide confidential traumainformed support to individuals who have experienced any form of sexual misconduct dating/domestic violence stalking discrimination or harassment by offering empathetic listening and validation of experiences using traumainformed care principles to ensure a safe and supportive environment and maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of individuals seeking support.
  2. Adhere to legal reporting requirements by understanding federal state and campus reporting obligations. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of incidents as required by law.
  3. Assist individuals in understanding and accessing campus and community resources including medical mental health legal and academic support. Advocate for the survivors needs and preferences in all communications.
  4. Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support. Assist in safety planning including obtaining protective orders or implementing campus safety measures such as NoContact Directives.
  5. Conduct thorough assessments to identify the immediate and longterm needs of individuals. Continuously monitor and adjust support plans to ensure ongoing needs are met.

Case Management

  1. Facilitate intake interviews and carefully document disclosed information ensuring confidentiality.
  2. Maintain detailed accurate and confidential records of interactions and services provided.
  3. Facilitate communication between survivors and campus departments to ensure accommodations and support services are effectively implemented.

Collaboration Education & Outreach

  1. Assist in the development and delivery of prevention education and awareness programs for the campus community on topics related to sexual violence healthy relationships and bystander intervention.
  2. Collaborate with campus partners to promote advocacy services and integrate awareness efforts into campus culture.
  3. Provide crosstraining to campus partners and partner agencies.
  4. Work closely with departments such as Title IXDHR Counseling University Police Health Center Housing and Student Affairs to advocate and ensure a coordinated response to reports of violence and harassment.
  5. Cultivate partnerships with local community organizations to enhance resource availability and improve referral networks.
  6. Support filing applications with relevant support organizations.
  7. Enhance the MultiDisciplinary Team (MDT) through assessment implementation and evaluation.
  8. Coordinate and monitor referrals across agency programs ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate support.

Compliance & Reporting

  1. Stay informed of federal state and local laws as well as institutional policies related to Title IX Clery Act and violence prevention.
  2. Participate in training and professional development to remain current on best practices for supporting survivors.
  3. Provide data and reports as needed for compliance purposes ensuring confidentiality and anonymity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Equivalent to graduation from a fouryear college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are jobrelated and three 3 years of progressively responsible professional student services work. A masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: LIGHT WORK involves mainly sitting up to 25 standing or walking; lifting medium weight objects limited to 25 pounds.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

SCREENING: Only those applicants possessing experience most directly related to the immediate needs of the office will be invited to appear before a Qualifications Appraisal Board for the purpose of appraising training experience and interest in the position.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

SENSITIVE POSITION: Sensitive positions are designated by the CSU as requiring heightened scrutiny of individuals holding the position based on potential for harm to children concerns for the safety and security of the people animals or property or heightened risk of financial loss to the CSU or individuals in the university community.
