Summary
The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness and appropriate social and emotional adjustment; that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement; and that develops strength skill agility poise and coordination in individual dual and team physical activities and sports in accordance with each students ability. Our educators are expected to engage in ongoing professional development be open to interdisciplinary opportunities and actively help further our schools strategic initiatives of community and inclusion.

Employee experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. The noise level in this environment is quiet to loud. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment but there may be possible exposure to childhood diseases and illnesses. The work environment may vary from extremely cold to extremely hot depending on the activity and the season. Exposure to heated/air conditioned and ventilated facilities with average interior dust with occasional exposure to outdoor elements.
Inperson attendance necessary to provide an effective level of performance during regular school hours.There are some required commitments outside of regular school hours as needed including evening and weekend commitments as well as accompanying students on various experiential activities throughout the year.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch crawl or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Physical requirements are consistent with light physical duties required of teachers generally. Inperson attendance necessary to provide an effective level of performance during regular school hours.
