Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Assistant Professor of Trombone (TenureTrack).

Work Performed:

  • Teaching Trombone at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Actively recruit trombone students.
  • Maintain active program of creative and intellectual contributions.
  • Serve along other faculty in the Brass Quintet.
  • Teach related courses as needed to meet faculty load requirements.
  • Serve as requested on school college and university committees and in leadership positions in community and professional organizations.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • The qualified candidate will have a Doctorate (DMA EdD or PhD) in Trombone.
  • Evidence of the ability to creatively engage students in the studio and the classroom.
  • The candidate will demonstrate professionallevel performance artistry as a soloist as a chamber musician and as a symphonic player.
  • Qualified applicants will show the ability to team effectively with the other brass faculty.
  • Ability to teach a variety of trombone and brassrelated subjects including graduatelevel courses in brass pedagogy and other courses in music.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of previous collegelevel teaching.
