Staff Accountant Join a Growing Home Energy Company!

Location: Stamford CT (InOffice 5 Days/Week)

Job Summary:

As a Staff Accountant at Venture Solar youll leverage your strong accounting foundation and meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of our financial records. This role offers a chance to contribute directly to a fastpaced growing company in the renewable energy industry. Were seeking a motivated individual who is eager to take ownership of key accounting tasks collaborate effectively with the team and continuously improve our processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with processing invoices payments and expense reports. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Support the accounts receivable process including invoicing and collections.
  • General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • MonthEnd Close: Assist with monthend closing procedures including account reconciliations and accruals.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
  • AdHoc projects: Support the Controller and other members of the finance team with adhoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 13 years of accounting experience preferably in a fastpaced environment.
  • Experience in the solar or construction industry is a plus but not required.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Sage accounting software is a plus.
