General Purpose:The primary purpose of this position is to lead the regions buildings and teams to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy management rehabilitation diagnostic evaluation and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the pulmonary system. This is a regional role and will require travel within South Carolina between buildings.
Essential Duties:
- Receive and follow schedules/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the facilities to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.
- Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients needs.
- Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in the patients condition.
- Collect analyze and interpret data and information from healthcare members and document actual and/or potential diagnoses.
- Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients.
- Perform interventions according to identified priorities plan of care and hospital policies.
- Provide respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic services as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and treatments.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license.
- Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Local to the Columbia SC area for required travel
Work Environment:
- This position may require travel within the assigned region 4 DAYS/week
- Work is performed in a healthcare setting which may include exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
