The Role Head of Chemistry
As Head of Chemistry you will lead a dynamic department that consistently achieves outstanding academic results. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering highquality lessons in line with the departments Schemes of Work
- Overseeing assessment and student progress ensuring every student meets their full potential
- Leading and supporting staff including mentoring NQTs and coordinating CPD
- Developing enrichment opportunities such as Oxbridge preparation lectures and revision sessions
- Maintaining high standards of discipline and student behaviour within the department
Who are we looking for
The ideal Head of Chemistry will be:
- A graduate with a strong honours degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
- An outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for Chemistry
- Experienced in leading a team or ready to step into a leadership role
- Skilled in assessment curriculum planning and student progress tracking
- Committed to delivering high academic standards in a selective setting
