Summary: | Diagnose repair and install refrigerated cooling equipment and appliances and gasfired heating equipment. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: | |
- Work cooperatively with colleagues supervisors and administrators.

- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers
- Plan and execute work efficiently within the SchoolDude work order system
- Maintain and install rooftop heating and cooling units.
- Maintenance and retrofit of refrigeration compressors.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in good order and in compliance with the State Fire Marshal and Office of Environmental Health site inspections.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Buildings & Construction Coordinator on proposals purchasing and specification on HVAC equipment.
- Maintain all HVAC control equipment including thermostats ignition systems power delivery systems pneumatic and valves.
- Perform all work within the regulations concerning CFCs. Welding. Silver brazing for repair and installation of piping.
- Other duties as assigned reasonably related to the scope of the position

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Be able to do manual physical labor lifting moving furniture materials equipment and supplies
- Maintain assigned uniforms equipment and tools office and parts room in an operable safe and attractive status.
- Account for supplies materials and equipment as required.
- Complete records and reports as required in a timely manner
- Maintain facilities securing the facilities following the work completed.
- Be part of a 24hour emergency service to the district.
- Other tasks may be requested by other supervisors including the Director of Operations.
Minimum Qualifications: | |
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years successful commercial experience in the Electrical trade.
- Possess a valid New Mex. Drivers License appropriate for operation vehicles of size required of this position.
- Possess and maintain a current Refrigeration Environmental Protection Association Inc. technician card.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical symbols.
- Possess and maintain a current New Mexico Journeymans Refrigeration License.
- Completion of a recognized training course in refrigeration/heating.
- The Board may find appropriate and acceptable alternatives to the above qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: | |
- Knowledge of Dine language culture and history preferred
- Good communication skills and customer service skills

Physical/Job Requirements: | |
- Physical ability to do manual work for 8 hours per day. Sitting standing driving bending stooping kneeling and lifting climbing ladders. Lifting from floor to midthigh maximum 70 lbs. occasionally. Lifting from midthigh to should maximum 60lbs). Lifting from shoulder to overhead 40lbs) carrying maximum 75lbs)
- Work overhead work in tight areas able to work off ladders and to work at floor level (on knees).
- Hand/eye coordination normal range of sight.
- Ability to move and operate equipment related to maintenance.
- Carrying or hoisting heavy materials onto roofs.
- Ability to work at great heights safely.
- Any lifting that would require more than 50 pounds of dead weight should be lifted by at least 2 people.

Safety and Health: | |
- Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
- Proper posture is required to eliminate acute and chronic low back pain.
- Wear protective devices such as back supports eye wear nonskid pads or steeltoe shoes as job conditions demand.
- Read understand and serve all precautions and proper methods of use on chemicals equipment tools and materials.
- Proper precautions must be taken when working with heavier air gasses chemicals and welding equipment.
- Adequate experience and training required to insure protection of employee and building occupants
