Job Overview
Location/Schedule:This position is located at our Talbert Health Center located in Clackamas OR. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Program Description: The Addiction and Recovery Counselor I or II is responsible for providing and coordinating a wide range of supportive and therapeutic problem gambling services and addictions services. Services are provided from a Strengths Based philosophical framework for a caseload of approximately 30 adults with needs that may not have successfully been served in more traditional clinicbased delivery systems. This is a dynamic team that uses creative and exploratory thinking to develop personal recovery plans oneonone with clients and helps with advocacy to overcome barriers.

- Evaluate and continually update clients needs and complete an addiction and/or gambling treatment assessment for new clients
- Participate in the development and implementation of client treatment plans utilizing established treatment models by assessing client behavior. Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and recommend alternate strategies as necessary.
- Work cooperatively in a team setting to coordinate continuity of care; coordinate with internal and external service providers.
- Facilitate both group and individual therapy build relapse prevention plans conduct family/support person sessions and termination sessions
- Must document and maintain clinical records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policy and procedures and local state and federal regulations through use of Electronic Health Record System (EHR).
- Understand and abide by federal regulation of Alcohol and Drug information 42CFR.
- Adhere to compliance required laws and trainings and the safety of property staff and client all regulations I.e. Mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPPA fire regulations including all company policies and policies under which the facilities is licensed and operates
- Perform UA sample collections weekly for clients keeping in mind of chain of custody.
- Develop new treatment plans for treatment that extends beyond one year; assess for pathological and problem gambling issues and for clinical issues of those affected by someone elses gambling.
- Participate in all scheduled staff meetings supervision sessions and other departmental and agency meetings.
- Complete all annul employee training requirements in order to understand how to conduct ethical work for professional development and stay in compliance
- Assist in crisis situations as appropriate following emergency protocols and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Addiction and Recovery Counselor I: CADCR
- Addiction and Recovery Counselor II: CADCI or CADCII.
- Knowledge of culturally specific services
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care
- Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and evidence based practices
- Understanding of Recovery Model
- Operate computer programs and systems at a level needed to perform the essential duties
- Be able to prepare simple reports
Working Conditions
- Environmental: Work is generally performed in a health center setting in an office environment. Operating hours are between 8:00 am and 7:30 and 8:00 pm with 8hour shifts.
- Mental: Meal periods and breaks are subject to interruption. Remaining aware and alert is critical to detect and address escalated potentially volatile situations. Universal precautions should be taken due to exposure to disease biohazards noise and contaminants
- Physical Demands: There are periods of time spent stationary at a desk for documentation emails virtual meetings and making phone calls. There is movement around the work space between desks and treatment rooms. Use of keyboard is constant for entering data into the EHR and documentation and reports. Communication and the ability to convey information for therapeutic purposes is extensive. Must be regularly able to observe and recognize client behavior that is not always verbalized recognize client ques. On occasion there may be use of stairs stooping transporting of paper or supplies. On occasion may need to run or move quickly to avoid crisis situations
