Williams College seeks a highlymotivated studentcentered experienced professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Study Away. This position will report to the Dean of Global Education and will serve as the frontline person for the Global Education and Study Away office as well as the primary advisor for the colleges study away programs.
The Office of Global Education and Study Away is dedicated to supporting students in the planning predeparture and reentry phases of academic travel. We also value connecting with partners on campus and across the world to promote the value of international education and student travel. We value commitment collegiality collaboration and working professionally with students staff global program partners and faculty.
The successful candidate will excel at working independently while partnering with the Dean of Global Education on assessment efforts. They will take initiative to meet student needs and have strong communication and advising skills. They will have attention to detail and quality of care in the output of work both electronically and in person. They will be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and programs at once and be able to operate dynamically in a small twoperson team.
Responsibilities:
Serve as front line communication for the office (manage phone communications general emails websites and social media activities).
Manage all advising and campus outreach activities. This includes group advising.
Manage all annual events including the Study Away Fair; International Education Week; Senior Year Extravaganza; and Academic Expo.
Manage and implement all predeparture and reentry programming.
Manage the student Global Ambassador program. This includes events and activities led by student volunteers each year.
Collaborate with campus offices (Deans Office Registrars Office Student Financial Services Williams Exeter Program in Oxford administration WilliamsMystic administration) on administrative duties and student support.
Oversee all administrative aspects of the office with careful attention to detail. Manage the offices application system via Terra Dotta for all semester academic year Global Scholars and Winter Study academic travel applicants. Make continuous updates and improvements to the application process and program websites (Global Education Global Williams WEPO). Build and update travel Winter Study course applications via Terra Dotta each year.
Responsible for collecting and distributing all internal and external data to offices and external professional organizations. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree plus 5 or more years of highly relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree preferred.
Demonstrated international education administrative experience.
Experience working with the Terra Dotta software system; advising; andpredeparture/reentryprogramming.
Ability to streamline systems and processes.
Demonstrated ability to learn and understand everchanging program partner updates.
Commitment to supporting undergraduate students in their academic social and personal success.
Additional skills required include Google suite; Adobe; Microsoft; and Wordpress
This is a fulltime yearround appointment reporting to the Dean of Global Education within the Dean of the Colleges Academic Engagement unit. This is a fully onsite position.
