Job Description Summary
The Student Assistant Communications will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives and content representing the Fowler School of Engineering. This position will focus on creating compelling content and experiences that resonate with prospective students alumni industry partners and the broader community. The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for writing and a strong understanding of storytelling. Applicants should possess extensive writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear easytounderstand content and narratives from complex or specialized subjects. Strong attention to detail and the ability to simplify technical concepts for a broad audience are essential to this role.

Responsibilities
Maintaining and ensuring consistency in the schools brand identity including brand guidelines messaging and visual assets. Develop compelling narratives highlighting the schools unique value proposition achievements and impact. Craft engaging stories about faculty research student success alumni accomplishments and other relevant topics. Create a variety of content formats including articles blog posts infographics and social media posts. Ensure that content is aligned with the schools brand and messaging. Work closely with faculty staff and students to gather content ideas and ensure accurate information is shared. Assist in creating editing and distributing the colleges email newsletters website and blog content etc. Assist in updating and maintaining the colleges website pages. Work closely with the colleges marketing and communications team to ensure consistent messaging across digital platforms. Support the team with various administrative duties as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Chapman University majoring in writing English communications journalism public relations or a related field. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Excellent writing editing and proofreading skills. Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work with little supervision. Reliable and communicates well with the supervisor.
