Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a secure forensic mental health service providing specialist psychiatric care to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The service operates across low medium and highsecurity units and involves working with complex forensic cases requiring specialist risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will conduct detailed forensic risk assessments and provide expert witness testimony in court proceedings. You will develop and oversee rehabilitation pathways for forensic patients transitioning to lower security settings. Working closely with probation services police and the Ministry of Justice you will coordinate care. Additionally you will provide consultation and leadership to forensic nurses psychologists and social workers implement violence reduction strategies and risk management frameworks and participate in multiagency safeguarding meetings providing expert advice on criminal responsibility and mental health defenses.
