Job Description

COMPANY: Three Rivers FS

HIRING MANAGER: Craig Martins

LOCATION: Holy Cross IA

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The purpose for this position is to assist in daily operational duties at the facility. Operates commercial sprayer or floater for the purpose of applying crop inputs to producer field. In addition operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment. Performs all job functions in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for maintaining operations at retail supply location.

Follows maintenance schedule of facility and equipment.

Assists both fulltime and parttime operations personnel.

Maintains the facility and equipment image.

Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Works with location manager on all safety and compliance issues.

Applies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates procedures and following all pesticide labels. Records application data according to regulations and standards.

Sets up material handling blending storage transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products. Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.

Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate sprayers floaters single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards

Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis. Assures all products are accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.

Responsible for maintaining repairing rebuilding and/or servicing location equipment vehicles and structures as needed

Follows Three Rivers Company Policies OSHA and DOT policies and procedures as they apply.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Positions at this level have no formally assigned supervisory responsibility. Employees are responsible only for the performance of their own assigned work. They may be asked to train new employees in the fundamentals of the job or to participate in crosstraining of other employees in the department but such assignments do not include the ongoing authority to assign and review work of other employees or to recommend or take corrective action with regard to other employees performance.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof and 02 years of related work experience.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge collaboration communication customer focus decision making and skill development.

Must have or obtain and maintain a Class A CDL license with required endorsements a satisfactory driving record and valid medical card.

Must hold and maintain or have the ability to obtain all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied. Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager.

Ability to work extended hours and oncall as business conditions warrant.

Occasionally exposed or required to:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot cold wet etc.
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust fumes chemicals and electrical hazards requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 70 lbs.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Three Rivers policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position

Scope

Responsible for own work only; some direct or indirect control over expenses and revenue generation; may make some budgetary recommendations; accountable for results of own work.

Works accordingly to guidelines but may make changes with predetermined guidelines.

Contacts with employees within the immediate department or related support units to obtain clarify give facts or information which are more complicated or technical.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates Licenses Registrations

Custom Applicator licenses. Appropriate drivers license CDL with Hazmat Tank and air brakes. Employee must be insurable to operate required vehicles. Must have valid drivers license.

Materials Equipment and Software Used

Sand blasting equipment and materials paint sprayers and dry floaters. Knowledge of basic computer operating systems.

Physical Demands

The work requires considerable strenuous physical activity such as frequent climbing of tall ladders lifting heavy objects 70 pounds) and the use of transportation equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment involves risks with frequent exposure to potentially dangerous situations which require a range of precautions or significant opportunity for personal injury if an error or mishap occurs.
