SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction and supervision of the Special Services Director and ECEAP Lead Teacher this position will participate in the development and implementation of a daily classroom program in accordance with ECEAP standards and service delivery plan. This position collaborates with the Lead Teacher in the planning and implementation of daily classroom programs for preschool children.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior ECEAP or other preschool experience.
- Preferential consideration to an applicant with an accredited AA degree/endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent;ANDone of the following education requirements:
- Associate Arts or higher degreeOR
- 72quarter credits 48 semester credits) from an accredited collegeOR
- Pass an academically rigorous assessment.
- First aid and CPR card within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of tuberculosis (TB) skin test unless there is written proof of one of the following:
- A negative TB test in the 12 months prior to hiring
- Medication therapy to treat TB
- A recent negative chest Xray and a statement from a healthcare provider that the individual does not pose a risk to others.
- Maintain a valid food handlers permit issued by Spokane County Health District.
- Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
- I9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- Completion of all districtrequired training within thirty 30 calendar days from the hire date.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Lead Teacher and Assistant in the implementation of the daily classroom program and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all the students enrolled in the program.
- Prepare the physical environment as directed by the ECEAP Lead Teacher and Assistant for a safe and orderly learning environment with developmentally appropriate activities including preparation and organization of all classroom materials.
- Actively contributes to a positive educational climate for students to learn.
- Assists with children in large and small group activities as directed by ECEAP Lead Teacher and Assistant.
- Follow ECEAP performance standards and have knowledge of the Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) Curriculum.
- Perform daily classroom cleaning including sanitizing classroom equipment and maintaining a clean food service area.
- Assists with meal service including helping children learn appropriate eating habits.
- Observes and documents childrens development as directed by the ECEAP Lead Teacher.
- Encourages experimentation exploration problemsolving cooperation socialization and choicemaking.
- Assists in the supervision of children in learning proper physical hygiene changes children in soiled clothes and performs diapering as necessary.
- Assist with data entry tasks as directed by the teacher including completion of observations using TSG and creative curriculum.
- Assists in the supervision of students to ensure safety during pickup and drop off.
- Provides integrated comprehensive services to children with special needs.
- Perform additional tasks needed in accordance with the ECEAP program performance standards.
- Meet with the teachers to communicate information and discuss goals with the direct service team.
- Follow directions from Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher and assume the Assistant position when the Assistant Teacher is absent.
- Attend staff meetings conferences and all required training programs.
- Participates as a member of the classroom program and building team.
- Develop knowledge and skills in early childhood education through participation in inservice training.
- Collaborates with the ECEAP team and special education team to support students who have special needs.
- Maintain appropriate student records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work yearare determined by thenegotiated agreement and the needs of the District.
Verification of identity and United States work authorizationmust becompleted before employment commences. The successful candidate for thispositionmust complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
