The Chemistry and Special Chemistry Supervisor is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory within these assigned areas. This position integrates laboratory processes to maximize quality reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to age growth and development of patients in all age groups.

Education Requirements:
Minimum: Must meet requirements for Technical Supervisor under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 under one of the following:
- Be a doctor or medicine or a doctor of osteopathy licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the state of Indiana and be certified by the American Board or Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or possess qualifications that are equivalent to those required for such certification.
- Be a doctor of medicine or a doctor of osteopathy in the State of Indiana and have at least one year of laboratory training or experience or both in high complexity testing in the specialty or six months within the subspecialty.
- Have earned a doctoral degree in chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; and have at least two years of laboratory training or experience or both in high complexity testing within the specialty with a minimum of six months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty.
- Have earned a Masters degree in clinical laboratory science medical technology or chemical physical biological science and have at least two years of laboratory training or experience or both in high complexity testing within the specialty with a minimum of six months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty.
- Have earned a Bachelors degree in medical technology or chemical physical or biological science from an accredited institution and have at least four years of laboratory training or experience or both in high complexity testing with the specialty with a minimum of six months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum: 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in clinical laboratory setting
- Preferred: 5 years or more supervisory experience in a high complexity laboratory
License / Certification Requirements:
- Minimum: MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP)
