The Opportunity:
Under the leadership of the Pesticide Resources and Education Program (PREP) the Pesticide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Safety Educator will provide statewide continuing education courses on IPM for pesticide applicators in Puyallup Washington. This role involves leading the development updating and delivery of IPM courses and resources. The courses and resources will cover various areas including school home Master Gardener structural and public health IPM.
WSU. Extending Knowledge. Changing Lives. There is extraordinary work being done by Washington State Universitys (WSU) Pesticide Resources and Education Program at WSU. For over thirty years the Pesticide Resources and Education Program has provided engaging pesticide safety education to address critical issues facing Washington State and the Pacific Northwest regarding pesticides. It has also provided Washington and Oregon with uptodate pesticide information by serving as a data query resource to enable the safe and informed use of pesticides. The Pesticide Resources and Education Program provides courses and expertise that help guide decisionmaking and policy initiatives across the state and the country.
Additional Information:
This is a full 100 FTE) project position. This position is overtime eligible.
This is a temporary position expected to end on June 1 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $4386.85 $5833.00 Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three 3 years of related program experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Washington State Department of Agriculture Public Operator License or be able to obtain within 3 months of starting position.
Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance withSPPM 7.10and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pesticide safety education or adult education.
Demonstrated grantsmanship and experience managing budgets.
Experience with computer software including desktop publishing and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using and troubleshooting a wide variety of audiovisual equipment.
Experience in producing video and multimedia presentations.
Demonstrated time management skills.
Demonstrated Spanish language skills: oral and written.
