Job Description
Walpole Public Schools is seeking an ExtendedDay 1:1 Aide at the elementary level effective immediately for theschool year.
Summary: To provide social and behavioral support to specific students with highneed disabilities within the Extended Day program. Student assignment is determined by Extended Day and District administration. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring a safe environment for the assigned student.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and potentially engage in moderate physical activity.
- Engaging the student in basic deescalation techniques if the student is dysregulated.
- Consulting with extended day staff as needed regarding the students needs.
- Reporting to extended day staff any issues or behaviors that would typically be reported to parents.
Qualifications:
- College graduate preferred
- Safety Care trained preferred
- Ability to effectively engage students with high level of need due to disability
- Fingerprint verification required
Hours:7:00 9:00 am Monday through Friday
The position is overtime eligible $36 per hour over 40 hours only).
