Job purpose

The Dry End OperatorPrinter role is responsible for providing a structured cadence for relieving Dry End Operators for their breaks and performing all job duties at the Hot press Float line Printer and Wrapper.

Duties and responsibilities

The primary job duties and responsibilities are:

• Follows all documented safety quality and production procedures.
• Collects and submits all completed orders to the Production Supervisor.
• Inputs end of line data into the appropriate system.
• Provides leadership during downtime per Production Supervisor guidance.
• Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
• Provides assistance to the Natural Team Leaders and Production Supervisors during transition at shift change.
• Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
• Fills in as a backup for the Natural Team Leader position as needed.
• Follows established break guidelines.
• Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
• Maintains excellent safety record.
• Maintains excellent attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

Experience required:

• At least one 1 year experience in the Dry End of the Macon Facility. Certified to operate floatline hotpress and printer.
• At least one 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment; including successful completion of jobs or similar activities requiring control of a mechanical process and inspection of product to meet quality standards.
• Demonstrated selfcompliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills

An individual must have the following skills in the Dry End OperatorRelief Operator position:

• Ability to work safely and to communicate with others in a professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability sufficient to determine product quality for example carton malformations color verification and structural integrity.
• Demonstrated hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient for product handling.
• Strong leadership potential and/or some leadership experience.

Physical requirements

This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:

• Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
• Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
• Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
• Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather dust noise above 85 dBA occasional odors and moving equipment (frequent)

• Must be physically able to perform the essential job duties.
• Must be able to work a rotating 12hour schedule.
• Works overtime as required.

The Macon plant was built in 1967. It manufactures egg cartons lunch trays and shake trays. The Macon plant has approximately 218 employees.Macon was awarded WorldClass Safety inand 2017. Macon also received the Operational Performance Plant of the year in 2015 and 2016 and Food Plant of the Year in 2016. The Macon plant has recently reached out to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and will be collecting canned and dried goods for the less fortunate.
