To support the growth strategy and its expansion our client is seeking an experiencedElectrical Superintendentwith a strong electronics engineering background and expertise in ship automation systems to provide onshore support across a fleet of vessels.
Electrical Superintendent
(Based in Mumbai India)
ORGANIZATION:
You will be responsible for troubleshooting maintaining and optimizing electrical electronic and automation systems remotely and during scheduled vessel visits.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and automation systems across multiple vessels working closely with onboard crews.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance repairs and system upgrades for ship automation power management and control systems.
- Conduct remote diagnostics and advise vessel teams on resolving electrical and electronic faults.
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance programs for fleetwide electrical and automation equipment.
- Ensure compliance with class flag state and international maritime regulations (e.g. SOLAS ISM Code).
- Work with shipyards contractors and OEMs during drydocking major overhauls and equipment retrofits.
- Maintain technical documentation fault reports and maintenance records for all assigned vessels.
- Provide training and guidance to onboard ETOs and engineering teams on automation and electrical best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades to improve vessel efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with ship automation systems such as power management engine control and alarm monitoring across multiple vessel types.
- Strong knowledge of PLCbased control systems navigation electronics and highvoltage systems.
- Familiarity with classification society requirements (e.g. DNV Lloyds Register) and maritime safety regulations.
- Ability to analyze complex electrical and automation failures and provide costeffective solutions.
- Willingness to travel to vessels as required for maintenance audits or emergency repairs.
- Experience working in a technical support ship management or fleet maintenance role preferred.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
