Athena Technology Group (ATG) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our NIWIC team at Charleston SC. The Cybersecurity Engineers primary function is to support the NIWCs Cybersecurity program.
Essential functions
- Implement and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policy to include Assessment and Authorization requirements. They may also perform the following duties:
- Plan implement upgrade and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyber resilient network
- Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure
- Respond to computer security breaches to reestablish protections and make required reports
- Implements manages and maintains current/future Cybersecurity standards best practices.
- Support Joint & CoUse Cybersecurity activities and information requests.
- Supports the sponsorship of new services and facilities as needed.
- Provideengagement with external and internal resources to review support and monitor Incident.
- Provide prioritization of efforts through threat informed intelligence and reporting.
- Direct engagement with CYBERCOM DISA J34 Department of Defense Information NetworksJoint Forces Head Quarters (DODINJFHQ) Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) and C2.
- Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
- Helps facilitate and prioritize interactions between CSPs and Government entities to prioritize the review of authorization packages.
- Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy job description and supervisors instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
- Responsible for aiding in own selfdevelopment by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
- Masters degree in Cybersecurity Computer Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent; and depending on PWS tasking
- Certified as Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I (positionbased) per DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual as applicable.
- Ten 10 years of notable experience preparing implementing and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy to include Assessment and Authorization requirements.
- Experience may include plan implement upgrade and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyberresilient network; assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies; ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure; and respond to computer security breaches to reestablish protections and make required reports.
