About the role
As the Capability & Culture Support Officer you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of programs initiatives and events that enhance workforce capability and foster a positive workplace culture. This position is part of the Capability & Culture Unit within the People & Capability Department.
You will coordinate training and development events manage logistics liaise with internal and external stakeholders and ensure the smooth operation of key learning systems. You will also help track expenditure process reimbursements and contribute to communication and recognition initiatives.
Reporting to the Senior Capability & Engagement Practitioner this role involves a mix of administrative coordination system maintenance data analysis and stakeholder support. You will act as a first point of contact for Capability & Culture inquiries and provide guidance on available programs and tools.
You will enjoy working in a continuous improvement environment with a systematic way of thinking you will enjoy trouble shooting scenarios to get to the bottom of a situation with the ability to problem solve and come up with options and solutions. With an attention to detail and a real knack for digital platforms you will support the team in adapting processes between systems.
This role offers flexibility with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements and varying start/end times. Occasional travel across Council sites may be required.
What your day will look like
- Coordinating training events managing logistics registrations materials and evaluations
- Maintaining learning management systems and databases
- Creating reports and analysing program data and provider quality
- Preparing communication and training materials
- Administering processes related to study support and processing reimbursements
- Providing guidance and system training to stakeholders
- Supporting Councils recognition programs and staff service awards
- Processing purchase orders invoices and collaborating with Finance to monitor expenditure
What you will bring
- Degree or diploma or lesser formal qualification in Business Administration and/or relevant experience/skills
- Strong administrative experience with a focus on training or event coordination
- High level of digital competence and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Experience working with a variety of systems and internal communications
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong written and verbal communication including reporting and content development
- Strong time management planning and problemsolving skills
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures confidently
