The Galloway School is seeking a committed compassionate experienced educator to join our team as a Preschool Assistant working with our young twoyearold students beginning August 2025.
As a Preschool Assistant you will be responsible for developing and implementing ageappropriate curriculum in our early childhood program which is the foundation of learning at The Galloway School.
In the preschool program students develop critical social skills and are immersed in a literacyrich environment. Curriculum in the program integrates math science and STEM activities throughout using a handson approach which provides opportunities for students to use their senses and national curiosity through engaging learning that challenges based on the individual needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ageappropriate curriculum for preschoolaged children
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote learning and development
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the daycare setting
- Supervise and monitor childrens activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Assist with toilet training and personal hygiene routines
- Manage behavior and promote positive social interactions among children
- Collaborate with parents to address any concerns or issues regarding their childs development
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of children with special needs or autism
- Model and guide students in a Christian environment that promotes responsibility perseverance caring and openmindedness within our global community
- Participate collaboratively in gradelevel divisional and allschool teams
- Develop and practice cultural competence in teaching and teamwork
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues both verbally and in writing
- Perform other related duties as required such as carline duty recess lunch etc.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm energy initiative and selfreflection
- Motivate and engage students
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience working with preschoolaged children
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment
- Patience empathy and understanding when working with children with special needs or autism
- A belief in the Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment preferred
- Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background check and maintain clearance while employed
