Job Description

This is a fulltime role working Tuesday to Saturday during the hours of 10 am to 7 pm with a onehour unpaid lunch. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
The salary for this position is $70000 to $75000.
Who You Are
- You have at least two years of experience providing direct services to individuals experiencing homelessness and one year of supervisory experience preferably in a shelter or housing setting.
- You are a strong leader who can balance accountability with support ensuring staff wellbeing and retention.
- You excel at problemsolving and crisis management maintaining composure in highpressure situations.
- You are committed to traumainformed care harm reduction and culturally responsive services.
- You are a compassionate and proactive advocate with experience working alongside diverse communities particularly those affected by housing insecurity.
- You understand the systemic challenges contributing to homelessness and are committed to addressing them through direct service relationshipbuilding and culturally responsive support.
- You thrive in a teamoriented workplace are adaptable and are willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in even when its not your job.
- You possess strong communication skills engaging effectively with diverse groups and adapting to varied contexts.
- You demonstrate selfawareness listening deeply centering others and taking accountability for your actions.
- You are consistently punctual reliable and dependable in support of your team and clients.
- You are proficient in computer skills including webbased research word processing MS Excel and email.
What Youll Do
- Oversee daily shelter operations to ensure a safe secure and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
- Supervise and support shelter advocates fostering a culture of accountability teamwork and selfcare.
- Ensure compliance with data entry and reporting requirements including HMIS Coordinated Housing Access and internal documentation.
- Coordinate shelter intake and room turnover ensuring new families can enter as soon as possible after a vacancy.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for facility maintenance repairs and security collaborating with property management and shelter leadership.
- Assist in managing the shelter budget ensuring financial resources are tracked and maximized.
- Develop and implement shelter protocols aligning with Housing First Assertive Engagement and harm reduction principles.
- Participate in community networking and advocacy efforts representing NAYA at relevant meetings and partnerships.
- Respond to emergency situations as part of a leadership rotation ensuring quick and effective crisis intervention.
