JOB TITLE:HVAC Foreman

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The HVAC Supervisor is responsible for the installation maintenance repair and/or modification of all HVAC systems circuits and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School graduate or GED
- Valid Texas Drivers license
Preferred:
- Five years experience in all aspects of HVAC trade
SPECIAL NOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Must provide documentation to prove at least five 5 years experience expertise and ability on Reciprocal Screw or Centrifugal Chillers
- Possess the knowledge and skill in the use of the equipment methods materials practices and tools used in the HVAC trade
- Knowledge of the common hazards and necessary safety precautions and ability to take safety precautions including the use of power tools and equipment consistent with the HVAC trade
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Initiates organizes and leads in the performance of HVAC necessary to keep the District physical facilities in good repair and in use for their intended purpose.
- If required designs minor HVAC installations that meet necessary national state and local HVAC codes
- Demonstrates uptodate knowledge of applicable local state and national HVAC codes and insures compliance to those codes in performance of all assigned work tasks
- Provides training for HVAC technicians and building mechanics
- Participates in assignment of duties
- Participates in the installation and repair of A/C and heating equipment and HVAC controls
- Participates in the installation of new or modified HVAC equipment
- Completes preventative maintenance inspections of equipment as assigned
- Insures the proper HVAC repair parts equipment and tools are available at work site
- Prepares all assigned tasks to ensure safe effective and efficient completion of all job assignments
- Continually improves technical knowledge through independent research and study
- Responds to emergency callouts as required 7 days a week/24 hours a day)
- May be required to work night and/or varying shifts
- Keeps vehicle supplied with tools and materials
- Follows all safety regulations related to any and all trade areas
- Performs other general maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to:
- Parking lot repair
- Moving furniture and equipment
- Responding to emergency or crisis situations in the District

- Various power tools and equipment necessary to perform required tasks

- HVAC diagnosis equipment
- CFC reclamation equipment
Audio Visual Demands:
- Average hearing
- Corrected 20/20 vision
- Good depth perception
- Ability to distinguish between colors
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Rubber gloves and goggles are required when working with any chemicals
- Back support belts should be worn when lifting
Required Training:
- 1st day orientation Hazardous Communication/MSDS/Fire Safety/Proper Lifting Techniques/Eye Safety
- Within 90 days will attend a 2hour Asbestos Training Awareness
- Ongoing Staff Development
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fastpaced highintensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
