Job Description

Demonstrates a strong knowledge of program design curriculum and instruction and behavior management Support/Provide instruction in the inclusion settingComplete academic assessments for evaluation meetings (initials reevaluations additional assessments) as neededFacilitate special education meetingsPlan effective instructional strategies for adapting or modifying the general curriculum to meet the various needs of individual students Participate in curriculum development as required Participate in the development of and oversee implementation of IEPS for students eligible for special education Conduct academic assessments/evaluations of student abilities and needs and serves as a member of IEP meetings Collect and analyze student performance data to determine the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are being met Assist students with both academic and social/emotional goals as stated in Individualized Education Plans Develop personal relationships with the students parents or guardians and works to establish with them an understanding and cooperative relationship based on the students individual needs.Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with educational assistants teachers administration and parentsMaintain the integrity of confidential information regarding students Understanding and familiarity with the Special Education process and regulations Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.Strives to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education instructional goals and objectives. Do baseline testing to determine educational needs and develop a strategic plan to address weaknesses. Maintains accurate complete recordsOther duties as assigned by the building administrator
