JOB PURPOSE:
Tax and General Ledger Accountant is responsible for managing financial records maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance. This role involves reconciling financial transactions preparing tax documents and collaborating with internal teams to support the companys financial operations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update the general ledger recording financial transactions accurately.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare and file various tax returns including income tax sales tax and other regulatory filings.
- Review tax codes and classifications to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax reviews.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends discrepancies and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide support in monthend and yearend closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for management.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws regulations and accounting standards.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams such as finance legal and operations to ensurealignment on financial matters
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Proven experience in tax accounting and general ledger management.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
