We havean exciting opportunity for an experienced Broker to join our Houston based teamworking across the Steel and S Market. Responsible for promoting FISand arranging trades on behalf of clients you will be dynamic and personablewith a passion for the financial markets. You will be a natural networkerhaving a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business. Idealcandidates will have experience in the commodities space.
Keyresponsibilities:
Promote FIS as a company providing market intelligence and analysisto clients
Arrange trades via voice broking on and behalf of clients forexecution at relevant exchange;
Create liquidity and price discovery with entities includingExchanges SIs MTFs clearers prime brokers and prop traders
Maintain and create relationships with other brokers when there isno liquidity from Liquidity Providers
Maintain and enhance existing client relationships making regularcontact and tracking daily trading activities
Proactively solicit feedback from industry participants via tradecalls surveys industry events trade shows and conferences
Identify and seize new business opportunities relating to trendsfuture markets products and clients
Produce a daily/weekly update of market prices market direction forinternational desks
Onboard new clients following correct Compliance and Operations procedures
Regularly assess client needs and financial conditions to identifyinternal crossselling opportunities
Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require
Riskrelated responsibilities
Understand regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape
Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with all FIScompany policies and handbooks
Exercise judgement and act with integrity due care skill and diligenceand open and cooperative with the NFA other regulators and exchanges
Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relateto the role or any relevant other activities
Observe standards of market conduct / ethics and ensureunderstanding and adherence to all regulatory exchange or clearing houserequirements applicable to role
Key Competencies / skills
Possess sound knowledge of Steel & S products and markets preferred
Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationshipsand networks wherever possible essential
Degree in Economics Geology or related degree preferred
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues essential
Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment essential
Team orientated; works well with others and diverse groups /personalities essential
Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills essential
Strong IT Systems experience Excel essential
Must be willing to take Series 3 NFA test or have Series 3 NFA credentials
