Job Description
We are looking for qualified Early Head Start Teachers/Lead Teachers.
We are assisting our Headstart PartnerOrganizationHometown Child Care in Aurora IL. Weare workinghefinding great candidates.
As a Lead Teacher in the Early Head Start program you will help prepare small children for preschool by easing them into organized education. Many of the children are from families deemed atrisk for one reason or another and need that extra empathy and understanding. You will play an important role in their lives. This is not just babysitting! Applicants must have fondness and patience for children. Our goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop curriculum suitable for children ages 3 years and under
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling educational play etc. to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build selfesteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflict
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through ageappropriate curriculum (identify shapes numbers colors do crafts etc.
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track childrens progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the childrens background and development
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
QUALIFICATIONS:We are only looking for Lead Qualified Teachers
A Lead Qualified Teacher must have:
- Aminimumof 60 college credit hours withat least6 credit hours in courses directly related to child care and/or child development from birth to age six
- OROne year 1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a kindergarten or licensed day care centerand30 college credit hours withat least6 credit hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development from birth to age six
- ORCompletion of an Infant/Toddler CDA
- Must be at least 19 years old
PAY:$18.00 $20.00 per hour based on experience and education
