High School Diploma or GED; completion of a State of Maryland recognized apprenticeship and two years work experience at the journeyman level; or seven years of electrical trades experience including two years at the journeyman level.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to the elements of inclement weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration and the risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee may be exposed to the hazardous conditions of a construction site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
The employee is responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment in order to minimize the frequency and severity of work related accidents. The employee is also responsible for using safe practices and methods in the operation of equipment and supplies related to their particular job. The employee is further responsible for correcting and/or reporting any conditions within the building or grounds that may be hazardous to the public coworkers or other county employees.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
