ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mort & Co Feedlotters of the Future program has been launched to grow the next generation of industry leaders and provide a pathway to industry for those with a budding passion for agriculture and beef production who are looking to take a more hands on practical approach to building their career.
The program is a twelve 12 month fulltime paid program in which you will gain experience in all core areas of a feedlot operation by rotating through the following areas in a Mort & Co Feedlot.
- Livestock Health and Movements
- Feeding and Milling
- Maintenance
- Pen and Ground Maintenance
- Administration
- Farms
In each rotation you will receive structured training and coaching in all the core activities of the area and have the opportunity to get hands on and apply your learning.
Throughout the program you will also gain access to professional development including leadership development meaning you will complete the program equipped with the skillset required for a wide variety of roles and well on your way to become a future industry leader.
ABOUT YOU
The aim of the program is to support you to learn and grow through real life experience and development so you arent required to hold a formal qualification or have prior experience to apply.
The Key criteria for the position are:
- A strong interest in working in the feedlotting and beef production industry combined with a commitment to learning and embracing new experiences and challenges.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- A focus on working safely.
- A commitment to upholding animal welfare standards.

OTHER INFORMATION TO KNOW
As Mort & Co have a strong commitment to health and safety for the benefit of all employees all site roles will require you to complete a preemployment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) requiring successful completion prior to a formal offer being made.
We would encourage applications to be submitted by 28 April 2025 as interviews for the program will commence in early May however applications will still be welcomed after this date.
