The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science team as a Software Systems Specialist II. The position will provide expert technical assistance to The University of Texas at Dallas Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science ECS Staff and Faculty. You will be a part of the ECS IT Team that is responsible for supporting designing testing and deploying thirdparty patches and software to all departmentalcontrolled desktops.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The position will provide expert technical assistance to the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science Staff and Faculty. Will design test and deploy thirdparty patches to all departmentalcontrolled desktops and laptops. Part of ECS IT helping to secure and ensure that the department meets its compliance benchmarks. Testing implementing and documenting enduser computer security patching and software distribution. Assist endusers with software distribution patching and addressing vulnerabilities. Scripting (PowerShell preferred) administrative practices (group policy; automatic deployment rules; compliance items) and best practices for patching and correcting vulnerabilities. Work to improve workflow and simplify common tasks (imaging software installs) Manage network servers and technology tools. Upgrade and manage hardware and software. REMOTE WORK FOR FUTURE AVAILABILITY After the probationary period this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly inoffice) work schedule subject to business need and manager approval. You may be required to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and can be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
