The interventional radiology supervisor oversees all Interventional Radiology technologists. The interventional radiology supervisor manages and takes care of day to day operations in conjunction with the radiology program manager.
Develops staffing plan in accordance to workflow needs.
Develops policies and procedures for daily operations.
Works with the radiologists and interventional nephrologists to ensure that the procedure standards are maintained. Recommends changes to the protocol that would improve the overall quality and care for the patient.
Actively participates in interventional radiology procedures including but not limited to PICC line placements arthrograms modified barium swallows arteriovenous fistulagrams hemodialysis cathteter placement exchanges and removals thrombectomies and venograms.
Develops and maintains a quality assurance plan for the interventional radiology and nephrology program.
Maintains sterile technique when required and ability to teach others.
Practices radiation protection and maintains ALARA standards at all times.
Manages all film badge maintenance in interventional radiology and nephrology.
Participates in the research and development of new exam and protocols.
Enters the appropriate charges into the RIS/HIS (Meditech) accurately for all exams.
Ensures that all exams are interpreted and a written report is available in a timely fashion.
Develops a workflow plan and adapts the workflow as necessary to a changing environment.
Monitors the equipment performance and takes the appropriate measures to have the problems resolved (i.e. arrange service/repairs).
Consistently demonstrates effective communication both written and verbal with all departmental hospital staff and vendors.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.

Graduated from an approved program in Radiologic Sciences required
Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for Radiologic Technologist required.
ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences required..
BCLS required.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience required.
Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
