Are you a dedicated and ambitious engineer with a passion for bridge design and construction in project delivery SYSTRA has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Bridges Engineering team onsite. If you excel in technical expertise leadership interpersonal skills and commercial awareness we want you to be part of our highperformance team.
Focused on providing construction phase support for HS2 in the Birmingham area youll collaborate with a wide range of specialists on diverse technical matters and enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working while spending significant time at our client offices and onsite.
Missions/Main Duties
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the allocated engineering tasks ensuring:
- Delivery of all specified outcomes and requirements on time within budget and according to the clients specifications.
- Full compliance with project requirements.
- Production of technically sound design solutions including all associated reporting.
- Identification and delivery of effective solutions.
- Adherence to all relevant technical standards.
- Maintenance of good relationships with all external parties to enhance the companys reputation.
- TakeresponsibilityforthePreparationofbridgerepairrefurbishmentorreplacementdesign.
- Preparereportsspecificationsasrequiredinthepreparationofdesignwork.
- Supervisetheproductionofdrawings.
- Plananddeliverbridgesurveysandinspectionsincludingrecordingofallrelevantinformation.
- Completebridgeassessmentcalculationandreporting.
- Representationofthedesignteaminsitebasedrolesprovidingtechnicalsupportduringtheconstructionphase.
- Managedeliveryofprojectstakeresponsibilityforbudgetandresourcedeploymentonprojects.
- Whererequiredtakeresponsibilityforprojectdeliverytoagreedbudgets.
- Whererequiredprepareestimatesforworkitems.
- Identifyscopechangeitems.
- Manageresourcesataprojectleveltoensureutilisationandproductivityismaintained.
Profile/Skills
- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Chartered or nearly Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer.
- Depth of Bride Engineering design work for complex organisations
- Experience in providing technical recommendations and solutions to technical inquiries.
- Experience working on HS2 is an advantage but not essential.
