Job Description

Education/Degree
  • Graduateof an accredited Physical Therapy program.


Experience

  • 3years of diverse and well rounded clinical experience preferably concentratedwithin the clinical specialties of the program.
  • Previoussupervisory experience in one of the following capacities: supervisor clinicalinstructor or supervisor of therapy aides/assistants under the guidance of atherapist supervisor.
Licensure
  • BLSrequired. Current PT license in theCommonwealth of Massachusetts by the Board of Allied Health Professions.

Skills(Specificlearned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills keyboardingpresentation CPR ACLS etc.

  • Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Participatedin activities which would require application of leadership skillsspecifically interactive team building.
  • Problemsolving skills for treatment planning and taking into considerationpatients age psychosocial and cultural background.
  • Advancedskills in teaching others and self assessment of learning needs strengths andprofessional goals.
  • Safelyexecute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self orpatients. Demonstrates the ability toassess and interact with patients and families using the theories of humangrowth and development family systems and cultural background.
  • Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.
Preferred
  • Highlydeveloped communications and interpersonal skills working with diversepopulation.
  • Workindependently be selfdirected and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Anticipateschallenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery.Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work meet deadlines andadapt to changing situations.
  • Attentionto detail.

Summary

Superviseoperational and clinical responsibilities for outpatient rehabilitationservices at the outpatient center.Participate in quality improvement and program developmentactivities. Provide consultativeservices to therapists to achieve stated goals for performance. Participate in development and assurance ofgeneral and program specific competencies as it relates to the patientpopulation served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team members are oriented mentored and supported to achievestated goals for performance.Performance feedback is integrated into performance evaluations.
  • Provide patient care as per Physical Therapist job description.
  • Patient satisfaction and productivity goals are managed andachieved. Gaps are identified andimprovement plans are put in place
  • Therapists are mentored to achieve professional standards ofpractice per network and facility policies and procedures.
  • Academic roles and research are fostered within the rehabilitationteam.
  • Patients visitors and other health care professionals in thecommunity are educated to the role of rehabilitation services and in particularas it relates to the specific programs.
  • Overall educational needs of staff are identified and prioritiesare determined and shared with manager.
  • Management meetings are attended as identified with manager.
  • Program based marketing efforts are supported to achieve statedobjectives.
  • Additionaldepartment organization or network activities are completed per establishedobjectives.
