Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
5 years related experience required. Preferably in computer systems and/or healthcare with software/hardware support in a networked computer environment.
Experience participating in departmental and enterprisewide projects with an emphasis on workflow analysis problem solving and new technology integration within a large multisite environment.
Must have reasonable working knowledge of networking (wired and wireless) server mobile device and desktop concepts and protocols.

Ability to cooperatively and effectively work with staff at all organizational levels. Ability to work closely with internal and external technical subject matter experts.
Strong PC skills required expert knowledge of supported software: MS Office MS Explorer Windows XP Windows 7.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements.
Strong Project Management skills required.
Ability to understand the work environment and competing and shifting priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals.
Ability to be flexible versatile and adaptable in daytoday activities conducted in a multisite environment.
Manage multiple customer and/or department priorities at any given time.
Working Conditions
Travel between Partners sites as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibility
At the project level this person will be responsible for monitoring tasks and ensuring that the quality of work delivered is acceptable. This position has no direct reports.

General Overview/Summary
Incumbent will report to the MGH/MGPO IS Management & Planning Corporate Manager and the candidate will be responsible for coordinating information technology solutions for the hospital end user community and MGH/MGPO IS Management & Planning staff.The Systems Specialist will assist to review develop and manage technology assessments and research technologies to confirm they are consistent with philosophy goals and objectives of the MGH/MGPO.Position to provide dedicated support to Physician and Physician related technology issues working to reduce frustration improve productivity and quality of worklife and supporting MGPO priorities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Areas of focus: The resource will provide support in the following areas adjusting services as needs change:
Help Desk Ticket review on behalf of MGPO:
Identify problem areas/groups (both physical and logical) issues/trends and facilitate resolutions.
Available for individual MD assistance.
Monitor Help Desk queue for MD and/or MGPO related issues.
Problem mining/resolution (available/dedicated to MGPO MDs approx 600:
Available to triage process and follow up on individual and group issues.
Responsible for coordinating information technology challenges through solution.
Technical Governance / MGPO Equipment Management resource to advise on technology requests purchases installations:
Serve as an advocate for MGPO providing consulting services for the MGPO for on campus and remote sites for network server application and desktop integration regarding upgrades and new initiatives.
Review develop and manage technology assessments and research technologies to confirm they are consistent with philosophy goals and objectives of the MGPO.
Evaluate business needs for end users and assist in developing recommendations for technical solutions in accordance with Partners IS platform standards.
Assists when necessary in the evaluation of vendor proposals to determine if a vendor solution meets the business need(s)
Present potential solutions to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Prepare written materials for use in presentations meeting and final project documentation.
Participate in departmental and enterprisewide projects with an emphasis on new technology integration with the Partners environment.
Participate in the research process whereby new ideas are generated and projects are executed that point the direction for the future value and benefits of health information technology.
Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of Partners Information Systems. Ongoing communication feedback and followthrough with customers/peers is essential.
Function both as an individual contributor and team player within Partners IS and the hospital community at large.
