Under general direction of Unit Operations Manager & Technical Manager individual performs a variety of patient contact duties related to the daily operations of the department. Individual will greet patients change patients for exams orders supplies and maintains outstanding working relationships with orthopedic clinics. Individual must also have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and also work well within a group setting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Explaining to patients how to appropriately change in preparation for their exam and assisting them if needed.
Understand patient safety regarding radiation exposure. Understand pregnancy guideline.
Understand unattended children guideline.
Appropriately address patients identified as a falls risk.
Maintain adequate supply level of film paper and dietary supplies.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Follow proper patient identification process.
Understand check in process for radiography patients.
Assist Technologists as needed.
Competent in patient lift operation Load AGFA and Codonics film printers. Maintain and submit weekly log for volume equipment and staffing issues. Maintain clean and neat changing area.
Stock clean linen.
Empty soiled linen bags.
Maintain clean and neat waiting rooms. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Effective interpersonal and communications skills. Attention to detail. Ability to provide compassionate care to patients. Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately. Ability to lift over 5 lbs. Must be able to speak read and write English. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of patients of all age groups. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients imaged in the department.
LICENSES CERTIFICATIONS and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable):
CPR certified preferred.
EDUCATION:
Aminimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year of previous health care experience preferred.
