Has been offered a position as a pharmacist @ NSMC contingent uponthe successful completionof the Massachusetts Pharmacy licensing exam withinsix months of graduation from a college/school of pharmacy. For unsuccessfulpassing of the Massachusetts Pharmacy licensing exam NSMC reserves the rightto terminate to terminate current employment.
Completed two years of education or achieved standing as astudent beyond the second year in an approved college/school of pharmacy inwhich the candidate is currently enrolled. Must be eligible to take theMassachusetts Pharmacy licensing exam in the event s/he is in the last year ofcollege/school of pharmacy.
Required State of Massachusetts License by the Board ofRegistration in Pharmacy Pharmacy Intern. Must be registered with theMassachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern prior to employment as apharmacy intern.
A Pharmacy Intern under thesupervision of a licensed pharmacist assists in the various activities of thepharmacy department that may or may not require the professional judgment ofthe pharmacist. Such duties include butare not limited to: maintaining patient profiles; setting up packaging andlabeling medication doses; filling and dispensing routine orders for stocksupplies for patient care areas; maintaining inventories of drug supplies; andpreparing including intravenous infusions. A pharmacy intern functions instrict accordance with standard written procedures and guidelines as mandatedby state and federal regulatory agencies.Any deviation from which must be approved by the pharmacy interns supervisingpharmacist on duty. A pharmacy internacting under the direct supervision of an approved registered pharmacypreceptor may supervise pharmacy technicians.
