Job Description

An exciting opportunity to lead a popular and growing Psychology department in our outstanding Newham school!

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Psychology. You will inherit a department with strong student interest and have the opportunity to build upon its success driving further development and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and management for a wellestablished and popular Psychology department.
  • Build upon the existing strengths of the department and identify areas for further growth and student engagement.
  • Support and develop the expertise of the Psychology teaching team (if applicable).
  • Ensure the curriculum remains relevant engaging and challenging at GCSE and ALevel.
  • Maintain excellent standards of teaching learning and assessment.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Psychology.
  • Significant experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and ALevel with demonstrable leadership experience in a successful department.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment in Psychology.
  • Excellent communication organizational and strategic thinking skills.
