Job Description
An exciting opportunity to lead a popular and growing Psychology department in our outstanding Newham school!
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Psychology. You will inherit a department with strong student interest and have the opportunity to build upon its success driving further development and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and management for a wellestablished and popular Psychology department.
- Build upon the existing strengths of the department and identify areas for further growth and student engagement.
- Support and develop the expertise of the Psychology teaching team (if applicable).
- Ensure the curriculum remains relevant engaging and challenging at GCSE and ALevel.
- Maintain excellent standards of teaching learning and assessment.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Psychology.
- Significant experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and ALevel with demonstrable leadership experience in a successful department.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment in Psychology.
- Excellent communication organizational and strategic thinking skills.
