Job Description

Virtual Teaching Position

Work From Home

Must Be Available During the Students Instructional Day: No AfterSchool or Weekend Classes

Teacher CHINESE

Terms of Employment: 10 Months FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The teacher will implement into weekly instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on the NCSSFLACTFL (National Standards for 21st Century Language LearningAmerican Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) CanDo Statements and the course syllabi. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning. This person will report directly to theManager of Teacher Effectiveness. Approved candidates will be placed into an active teacher pool.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of Essential Duties and Responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

  1. Administer appropriate district curriculum which is aligned with the NCSSFLACTFL CanDo Statements.
  2. Conduct classes in the language of instruction.
  3. Create and maintain a positive and academically focused learning environment.
  4. Develop and implement the Components of an Effective Lesson for instruction.
  5. Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
  6. Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
  7. Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
  8. Participate in other jobrelated duties and activities related to the position as assigned.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge skill and ability to provide instruction in a secondary virtual classroom.
  2. Work cooperatively with students colleagues and company management.
  3. Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals.
  4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons units and projects.
  5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives.
  6. Participate as an active member with other faculty.
  7. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by company policy.
  8. Maintain and improve professional competence.
  9. Communicate effectively both written and orally.
  10. Demonstrate foreign language proficiency at the AdvancedLow level based on the proficiency scale created by ACTFL.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education and Training:

  1. Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Licenses and Certifications:

  1. Must possess a teaching license issued by a state department of education.
  2. Must hold the appropriate foreign language endorsement which matches the assignment.

Internet: Consumergrade WiFiWired Internet connection.

Internet Speeds: 15 MBPS Download 5 MBPS Upload Check through speedtest

Computer: Processor: Single Core 1.5Ghz or Higher RAM: 4GB or higher Windows 7 8 8.1 or 10 Mac 2014 or newer No Chromebooks.

Two Monitors: Laptop Screen External Monitor (for laptops) Computer Monitor External Monitor (for desktop computers)

Camera: Webcam or HD webcam HD camera

Audio:Builtin USB plugin or wireless Bluetooth. One of the following Combination Headsets orSpeakers and a microphone
