Job Description
A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer with a strong background in dam construction to join their team in Pretoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the construction and rehabilitation of dams ensuring compliance with project specifications safety regulations and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections monitor progress and identify potential risks or delays.
- Manage contractors and subcontractors ensuring that all work is completed according to the project timeline and budget.
- Provide technical guidance and problemsolving support to the project team.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings designs and specifications to ensure accurate implementation.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders including engineers clients and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and submit progress reports quality control documentation and site records.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and water management regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional registration with ECSA (or eligibility for registration).
- Minimum of 8 years experience in civil engineering with a strong focus on dam construction and rehabilitation.
- Indepth knowledge of construction methodologies geotechnical engineering and hydrology.
- Proven experience in managing largescale infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership and problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and project management tools.
