About the BCLDB:

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and nonmedical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB is committed to governments goals of making life better for people in B.C. improving services and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. The LDB Wholesale Operations team is responsible for the registration procurement customs clearance selling and distribution of liquor products for the province of British Columbia. Our stakeholders comprise approximately 800 suppliers over 1500 retail outlets and 8000 licensed establishments.Working in collaboration with our suppliers and agents our vision is to provide a reliable and efficient service to support the success of our customers.There are five key divisions within the business; Supply Chain Pricing Imports Customer Service and Distribution. Each of our teams work closely in alignment with each other to provide a seamless customer experience and deliver on our service goals.

About this role:

The Wholesale Demand Planner (WDP) is an important member of the LDB Wholesale Operations team which supplies beverage alcohol to the province of BC. The Wholesale Demand Planner forecasts customer requirements and orders inventory into LDB distribution centers ensuring a consistent supply of beverage alcohol products to approximately 10000 customers including private liquor stores government liquor stores bars and restaurants. Each Wholesale Demand Planner purchases an average of 4 million cases of beverages alcohol inventory per year (valued at 400 million dollars) and is responsible for managing a portfolio of between 1000 and 2000 unique products across 50 to 100 vendors. The Demand Planner is the key point of contact with external vendors and internal staff for topics related to Distribution Centre replenishment.

A criminal record check is required.

This position operates in an office environment. The successful candidate must be able to conduct regular visits to the distribution warehouse. Occasional offsite meetings at thirdparty/supplier offices may be required.
