Job Description

Our client a specialist in Logistics they provide Airfreight Solutions (Export and Import) Seafreight Solutions Road Freight Customs and value added services.




Role
: Business Development

Location: Cape Town

Qualification:
  • Grade 12
  • Tertiary Freight qualification is advantageous.
  • Shipshape or similar knowledge
  • Several years industry experience supply chain warehousingmanagement operations
  • Leadership role
  • Must have a clear criminal record.
Skills:
  • Strong negotiation skills and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to meeting deadlines andachieving goals.
  • Integrity approachable and professional in dealing withcolleagues clients and stakeholders.
  • A customercentric mindset focusing on meeting the needsand expectations of clients and endusers

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquisition of new business minimum target twice basic
  • salary
  • Commission structure will be based on
  • Agency/documentation freight transport over recoveries the
  • Commission will apply with minimum is achieved and payableat a rate of 15 for the first year 10 for the second yearand 5 third year and ongoing
  • Required to have a minimum of 10 ongoing target accounts
  • Regular client calls on a rotational basis
  • Attend events such as exhibitions and conferences
  • Identify areas where customers need support and or attend
  • to complaints including the collection of overdue accounts
  • Focus on resecuring lost business and stabilize and retain
  • threatened loss of business
  • Manager your sales pipeline and submit a weekly report
  • every Friday
  • Ensure monthly collation of sales reports
  • Monitor competitor activity and trends
  • Assist with estimates and update the estimate register wherethe need arises. Follow up on the outcome of the estimates
  • Appraise yourself with digital/social media and marketing
  • strategies
  • Educate your clients on Shipshape Syntrac (internal software)by selling the advantages of our systems
  • Benefits of our AEO status
  • Implement your activities on the CRM Shipshape
  • Build good working relationships with operational staff andsales team
  • Manage and arrange customer workshops if and whenrequired
  • Assist with debtors
  • Any other duties associated with this passion.
  • Assist with promotions and golf days
