Overview
Kelemen North 7 is a 23bed medical surgical/telemetry unit specializing in the care oftraumatically injured patients. Patients with injuries that are stable but require ongoing close monitoring are admitted to this unit directly from the ED or the RossTraumaAdmitting Area. Patients are also admitted to the unit as they are downgraded from theTrauma/Surgical ICU or theTraumaStepDown Unit.Patients usually cared for in this area include those withtraumatic brain injuries spinal cord injuries rib fractures and lung injuries as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care.The unit is staffed with registered nurses critical care technicianstraumasurgery nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of thetraumapatient.
Short Description
Experience Required
Previous hospital unit secretary medical office assistant or medical records experience preferred.
Additional unitspecific qualification may be required.
Clerical communication and customer service experience a plus.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Unit Secretary certification is desirable.
