The Opportunity:
The Fiscal Officer/Management Analyst under the direction of the Director is a key position in University Accounting performing various accounting and financial duties with a focus on accounting and duties with a wide breadth of expertise in accounting and financial systems. This position serves as the university accounting expert in providing technical and professional support for payroll accounting.
The incumbent is responsible for interpreting state and federal regulations and for formulating University policy for compliance and implementation as appropriate including understanding and implementing newGASBpronouncements.
This position will be responsible for the State closing process and for the preparation of the auxiliary financial reports aswell as the compilation of financial records for other areas as requested. The incumbent will support the coordination of audits and fiscal year end activities; related to both financial reporting and banking.
This position will also provide training in related University Accounting policies and procedures and will work with Human Resource Staff to implement and schedule these trainings.
Additional Information:
This is a full time 100 FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4942.10 $6912.69 Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in business economics or a related field and three 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in governmental/fund accounting State and Federal revenue regulations fiscal planning supervision and administration.
Experience with modern enterprise resource planning ERP systems such as Workday.
Experience in a higher education system related to cash accounting revenue systems and/or accounts receivable.
