Summary

With more than 75 years of product innovations and numerous global customers that depend on this innovation and manufacturing scale for their success Varex is well positioned to grow creating a need for proactive financial analysis support.Based in Salt Lake City this position is considered part of the Financial Planning and Analysis (Decision Support) team. The main responsibility of the Financial Analysis Manager will be to provide financial analysis support to our growing Medical Sources and Detectors imaging business.
Included in this responsibility will be opportunities to support investment analysis around new growth partnering with the business to evaluate pricing and profitability at the business customer and product level and provide support to our growing India operations team. The successful candidate will proactively seek to interface with business support functions including Tax Treasury accounting supply chain and manufacturing.
Job Description
Typical activities the Financial Analyst will be expected to do include:
- Supporting the financial close process;
- Working with VP of FP&A to understand monthly results and seek explanations from business area leaders.
- Improve reporting by automating common monthly reports and enabling quick turnaround
- Identify drivers of business performance including but not limited to pricing analysis material cost variances manufacturing operating expenses headcount impact analysis overhead rate variance analysis etc.
Providing specific financial analysis support for:
- Operating expense budgets such as HR Finance Treasury etc.
- Specific budget for Medical Sources including volume roadmap and expenses for Tube manufacturing cost centers
- Detectorspecific volume roadmap and expenses for Detector manufacturing cost centers
- Principal Accountabilities
- Support the monthly financial close process.
- Partner with the business on a daily basis to support managements operating goals.
- Support the annual budget process for the Indiabased businesses.
- Develop Excel and ITbased financial reporting tools
- Support ad hoc financial analysis requests from the VP FP&A
- Develop a strong expertise of Varex Xray product cost standards and cost accounting
Job Requirements
- 2 years of financial analysis experience primarily from a manufacturing business and operational analysis exposure
- B.S. in Finance Accounting Business or related field
- Experience with SAP and BPC is preferred.
- Extensive experience with Excel is required
