Job Description

Title:

Human Resources Onboarding Assistant

Reports To:

Administrator of Human Resources

Job Goal(s):

This position is primarily responsible for providing an exceptional new hire onboarding experience. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to fingerprinting and background checks and records management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Associates degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience:

Minimum of three years in human resources or related fields and responsibilities is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with computer software applications such as Google Suite and HR software.
  • Highly reliable and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive problemsolving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires ensuring a smooth transition into the ISD.
  • Assist new employees with completing required onboarding paperwork including background checks.
  • Fingerprint local district employees and substitutes.
  • Stay up to date on State Legislation concerning fingerprinting laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure new employees have the necessary equipment access and resources.
  • Create and maintain personnel files on all VBISD employees.
  • Process monthly billings for local school districts fingerprinting to the finance department.
  • Process inhouse transfers monthly for departmental billing of fingerprinting.
  • EduStaff coordinator for Van Buren County.
  • Confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
