Job Description
- Ability to do some programming of three four and five axis machine tools using Unigraphics PowerMill and/or MasterCam Computer Aided Manufacturing software.
- Ability to set up and operate Computer Numerical Controlled milling centers with three four and five axis capabilities.
- Ability to operate conventional machines such as lathes mills grinders drill presses band saws and other general machine shop equipment.
- Set up machine tools selecting the proper tooling jigs fixtures and the correct speeds and feeds for the material being machined.
- Set references of machine to include all 5 axis moves within the program. This includes verifying part is set up the necessary height so there is proper clearance between machine spindle and table (No crashes).
- Order material ensuring certification is provided if needed order/choose the proper tooling needed.
- Develop flight work packages to include FIOS generation upload supporting documentation and coordinate support service signoffs.
- Estimate time and materials to complete hardware manufacturing.
- Provide necessary support for walk in work
- Work with engineers/requesters concerning drawing issues or necessary drawing revisions due dates etc.
- Ability to follow strict adherence to established fabrication policies and procedures.
- Fully comply with all safety regulations and provisions.
- Experienced working in a team environment on projects that require multiple skills and coordination across several organizations.
- Communicates well with others written/oral and is organized in work practices.
- Stay abreast of new technologies in the field of welding and fabrication to maintain a stateoftheart capability.
- Machining of complex structures to tight tolerances specified in engineered drawing callouts.
- Taking direction with little instruction and produce quality/timely results.
- Safely and proficiently operate motive equipment such as forklifts overhead cranes and oscillating type man lifts.
- Become Fall Protection Authorized User trained.
- Become Shop Machine Safety Operator trained.
- Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office 365
- Work overtime as needed to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Assist with developing Job Hazard Analysis to comply with NASA safety.
- Develop skills and understanding to utilize JobBoss2 for work package processing.
Requirements
- Valid VA Drivers license with good driving record to drive company vehicles.
- Candidate must pass a STC and Government background check.
- Ability to pass NASA secret security clearance upon request.
