JOB POSTING JOB TITLE: Mechanical Inspector DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform first piece and inprocess inspections on machined components in order to ensure compliance to Engineering drawings. Interface with shop floor production and Engineering personnel to ensure timely resolution of Nonconformances. Ensure that all product manufactured at KAC meets all Engineering requirements. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - Three years minimum experience in an NC machine manufacturing environment. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience (PCDMIS preferred) helpful but not required. Ability to learn is required.
- Must be extremely proficient in the use of inspection tools (i.e. calipers micrometers Intermics height gage etc..
- Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office products.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES: - Perform First Piece inspections in order to verify part compliance to Engineering drawings prior to approving the part for
- Production machining.
- Perform InProcess inspections on production parts in order to ensure continued compliance to Engineering drawings.
- Document the results of all inspections and compile weekly reports of inspections performed.
- Interface with machine operators and/or programmers in order to communicate and resolve issues (nonconformances) in an effective and timely manner.
- Interface with Manufacturing Engineering personnel in order to resolve drawing fixture or programmingrelated issues.
- Use a computer to input and print documents as nonconformance report.
- Performs reasonably related duties as assigned.
